Notes from my Dad
r. Jerry Grange.
He was receiving treatments in Chicago where Aunty Nike and their daughter, Folake’s family attended to him with doctors.
We all have a time marked out and his has come due.
It is a time for another sober reflection as we remember the
life and times of Uncle Jerry.
He was born to a very distinctive family from Fanandapo and with political strife had to sojourn in Nigeria,estranged from his home but made comfortable by his loving family. A royal person who carried on in spite of circumstances.
He gave much to his carrier life, as an orthopaedic surgeon of distinction serving to the highest level at the Orthopaedic General Hospital, Igbobi Lagos. This medical institution has remained the best of its kind in the country and certainly one of the distinctive institutions in Africa. His contribution to modernization of the hospital is notable.
A very purposeful, frank, straight to the point individual, he always enjoyed himself in good company and made others feel the same, demanding little.
His family will miss him greatly no doubt but he has done his best and returned to our maker. He struggled well to hang on with a fight well fought.
We honor him with our thoughts and commend him to the Almighty for a final peaceful rest.
May God give his immediate and extended family the grace and fortitude to bear the loss.
May he rest in glorious peace.
